Physical activity is essential for cancer clients as it can help reduce the side effects of treatment, improve strength and stamina, and enhance the overall quality of life. We offer exercise and movement programs tailored to the needs of cancer clients, including yoga, tai chi, and gentle stretching exercises.

Gentle Yoga

Small Group or One-on-One

Small Group: Wednesdays, 4 classes available
One-on-One Yoga: Mondays (Call to schedule)

Gentle yoga is an introduction to yoga’s relaxing and energizing benefits. It is perfect for low energy days. Gentle yoga is instructed by Theresa Novak.

One-on-One yoga sessions are designed for each individual’s specific needs. Whether you have never taken a yoga class before or hope to take your asana practice to new and more challenging levels, these sessions will help you reach your goals. Together, we’ll create a program that is perfect for you. From movement and breathing techniques, to flexibility and strength training, you will realize your own power. 

Sessions are one hour. Wear comfortable clothing. This program is at no cost to cancer clients and survivors. Interested candidates, call the office for more details and to schedule.

Tai Chi Easy/QiGong

Small Group Sessions

Small Group: Tuesdays (Call to schedule)

Tai Chi Easy consists of classic and simple Qigong, including the four essential methods:

  • Postural alignment
  • Breath practice
  • Self-applied massage
  • Relaxation, visualization, and meditation practices

The Tai Chi Easy program is a modification of traditional Tai Chi. Five movements are performed either sitting (Tai Chi Chair) or standing. Tai Chi Walking creates a moving form. We will focus on breath work, movement and stillness, and meditation. Although there is a pattern to each session, various movements are introduced regularly, keeping the practice fresh and diverse.

Tai Chi Easy aims for the cultivation of healthy longevity and inner tranquility. There is no straining or pushing. The movements are gentle and adaptable to all sorts of physical and psychological challenges. This program is complementary to recovery and rehabilitation.

One-on-One Personal Training

with a certified personal trainer

In these sessions, a certified fitness trainer will instruct workouts created specifically for the individual’s needs. After an initial consultation, we’ll establish your range of physical abilities and limitations to work with. Our personal training programs aim to help you feel stronger, while enhancing your quality of life and boosting your self-esteem
